QUILT PAINTINGS…

These paintings began as actual quilt studies, comprised of various fabrics. After completing the quilt design, I decided to paint them on canvas, to showcase the colors and forms, which can sometimes get lost in an actual quilt. The two-dimensional forms spring forth unencumbered by the weight and texture of the original fabric studies.

Unlike “Barn Quilts”, which have symmetrical and repetitive motifs, these are meant to be an energetic expression of life, in all its complexities. They bring joy to me and I hope they will to you, as well!
